"Public Enemies" is going to be amazing. I already know it; I don't care about any of the technicalities like the fact that it is shot with digital film. I have such an interest in that epoch of history and how society reacted to the hard realities of the Depression that I could care less about what style of filming was utilized during production.
I was lucky enough to have seen some of the sets in the Chicagoland area that are used in the movie. The set on Lincoln Avenue was amazing; fake cobblestone was set down and the buildings on the block were transformed to resemble their appearance back in the 1930s. The set in OshKosh, Wisconsin was equivocally fascinating. An entire little community was turned into a Chicago city block and the details were terribly enthralling. I am so fascinated with the history of this beautiful city and I really hope this movie portrays some of that through John Dillinger's life and his death.
